Amsterdam Street Style - Monday Morning Antique Market

Those who follow me on twitter might have known that I went to the antique market yesterday. I love going! You always get new inspirations. I have been busy redecorating my home (will post pics soon!) and I got some new things at the market. I also scored two vintage bags and a top. But yesterday I really went to put some creative stylish girls in the spot light. like I've said in the the post Street Style, Island Style, exploring my inner Sartorialist. These ladies all gave vintage touches to their wardrobe. Bright red lips always give me a nostalgic feeling, maybe because it is such a classic color (love it). Well the Monday morning Noorder Market in Amsterdam is the place to be!
As I was approaching this girl, another style blog took her picture! She said she gets it all the time, but does not do any blogging or "lookbooking" of her own, I say she should!
This is a set up of a stall, this guy sells furniture and decor. I thought it was so nice to set it up as a room rather then to just put everything how ever. I'll have breakfast at this table :)

Pretty Young Creative Things

Last night I attended an art expo in one of the "hippest" clubs in Amsterdam (so said), Jimmy Woo. Four Young Talented girls presented their creativeness. Music provided by talented DJ Aiscream (see below). And there were Paintings, Photography, Videography, Sing and design. I got a chance to meet two of the four girls, the DJ was obviously spinning the night away.

Design by Alissa Nicolai
Marlis Sluijter

Marlis started off as a self-taught
photographer at a young age. Then she went to the academy of photography because after she realized this is what she wanted to do, she still had to learn a lot. She is greatly inspired by Native Americans and this is what she projects in her photography. She finished her first series inspired by Native Americans and hopes to have many more expos and to work for magazines and abroad.

Alissa Nicolai

Alissa grew up with a lot of culture, music and art within the family. At a young age she learned to play the violin and danced Russian Ballet. She is a self-taught Designer. She does not follow trends so much as following her own feelings. She sings in a very unique, beautiful way. Her next upcoming performance is March 8th 2011, in Paradiso Amsterdam!

DJ Aiscream
Aisa started off DJing as an hobby. Which turned into a weekly job in a club in Amsterdam. From one club to another, now she DJs in all Amsterdam's hottest clubs and yearly festivals. When she started off, she got her inspiration from DJ "2 many DJ's". Mixing different music styles from Funk, Rock, Pop electro and hip hop. If you get the chance to see her work her mixing magic, make sure you'r there!

Outfit Post: Leopard Print Skirt

I wore this yesterday in the hopes of walking around snapping some pictures, but honestly it was way too cold. So I stayed in photo shopping and window shopping a bit. At night I went to an art exhibition of four young ladies. I'll post some pictures later.

New Clutch

Two days ago I finally got to spend time with my stylish dear friend that I hadn't seen in over 6 months! we had a wonderful brunch catching up and then she she introduced me to a new clothing store called "Monki". The companies goal is to create sustainable products for fashion-conscious people and that the cotton they use is organic (they are working towards it). I had looked on their webshop already and was determined to buy the over sized slouchy clutch. I wanted one for a while in this color and now I've got it! Thanks for sharing this new brand with me Eemsy! I saw a whole bunch of other stuff I liked, guess I need to go back to the store soon!
