Cheerio to the new Yeario!

Happy New Year!!
The first weekend of the year.... Amsterdam has been very busy, there is a joyful atmosphere in the city. Waking up to a sunny morning is bliss! Even if it gets cold at night, celebrate the weekend with a drink and a snuggle.
My boyfriend can play with his new toys (the copper cocktail shaker and jigger, from Crate&Barrel) while we create our new favorite drink; Gin & Tonic.
1. One shot of HENDRICK'S Gin
2. Few slices of cucumber
3. Topped off with Fever-Tree Tonic Water
Et Voila, Cheers & Happy New Year!

Metallics, Sequins and Velvet; 'Tis the Season

Hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas! We stayed inside most of the days, however we did go for a stroll, I wore metallic pants a sequined shirt (more casual than anything) and red velvet slippers. 'Tis the season for sparkles and glamour!

Both candles and cinnamon should be available at your local supermarket.
 What you need;

DIY Xmas Gift; Chocolate Covered Spoons

I have seen these types of spoons before, a chunk of chocolate to stir in hot milk to create hot cocoa. Now I wanted to make them myself, in a smaller fancier version that makes your tastebuds tingle.
The one on the left is Dark Chili and the one on the left is White Vanilla-bean.
What you need;
-Plain blocks of chocolate (dark & white)
-Wooden Spoons
-Chili (from a grinder)
-Fresh vanilla bean
1. Break both chocolates and put in two bowls, add bit of chili flakes into one and the scraped vanilla bean into the other.
2. Bring a pot of water to boil and place the bowl in the pot*, stir occasionally till the chocolate is melted evenly.
*(this method is called "au bain-marie")
3. Scoop the spoons in the chocolate and place on a lined baking sheet
leave them to cool down and refrigerate for a bit till chocolate is completely hard.
4. Package them in a plastic baggie and label them with custom-made labels.

Vday DIY ideas

I'm not the kind of person that is crazy about valentine's day, but when I see all the creative gift ideas on every website possible, I sort of get intrigued. Below are some easy and fun ideas to DIY for your valentine. Hope you like! XO
For your mom - Get a bar of chocolate and rewrap it with decorative paper, a sweet, personalized message and a ornament/keepsake.
 For a friend - Put together a crafts starter kit. You can add anything really. For some one who would like to start making bracelets, get nice beads, chain, pliers etc. other kit ideas; for someone that starts scrapbooking, card making or sewing.
For your lover - Put together a movie night box. Start with a DVD of choice of course, Add sparkle to drink, and interactive dessert like sticks and marshmallows (to hold over a candle) or a mini chocolate fondue set.

DIY; Last minute - New Years Outfit

The year is almost over and done, so I leave you with a last minute DIY, that serves as a nice budget friendly new years outfit. I'm going crazy for fringe at the moment. I got this glittery black and silver fringe at the fabric store, anything else you need is a simple stretchy black (or any color you like) cotton skirt (try "this" one).
You could go for either 1 layer or 2 (or more) for a fuller effect. Just keep in mind that the fringe band won't stretch with and needs to fit around your hips.
 It's awesome to dance in!!
Hope everybody has a great NYE! and I wish you all a wonderful, fashionable upcoming year!
XO

Outfit Post; Family visit

 Outfit post from last week. I chose for a flowy top and skinnies (to know when you should stop eating) and a flowy cardigan (that I could wrap around if it got chilly). I went to visit my family for "pre-Christmas" quality time. First to my one aunt for lunch and after to my uncle, aunt and kids for dinner. We got spoiled with food and had a good time. Hope everybody had a wonderful Chrismas weekend.
