DIY Bow Tie - Alexis Bittar Inspired

Flipping through an issue of Instyle magazine, I got inspired by the bow tie pin by Alexis Bittar. So I went and made one myself. I got the ornaments at H&M home, but I'm sure around this time you'll be able to find them with no problem. Watch the video for the "how-to".
Hope you like :)

Guest Post; DIY Festive Holiday Table Setting

Hi lovelies, Last week I once again got the honors of writing a guest post for Tereza from "Drastic Plastic".  I created a DIY cozy, laid back yet festive table setting post. I also wanted to thank Tereza for writing kind words about me :) Blog on!
First off I started by making a table runner. I discovered that this is one of the easiest things ever to sew. I used a light canvas fabric (use this for hand-cut napkins as well). I find it gives a natural and laid-back feel. Combining this with a sparkly ribbon and you’ve got a good balance between laidback and glam.
Instead of using name tags, make your own personalized wine glass markers that you tie around the stem of the wine/champagne glass. It has a double purpose; wine marker/name place setting.
As a centerpiece use tiny ever greens in terracotta pots. You’ll be able to plant these in your yard after the holidays and enjoy them all year round. As for the lights, I custom made the lights and I am planning on leaving them hanging. It gives a very nice atmosphere.
Finally add some candles, Et Voila!! Your festive, yet laid back table setting is ready to welcome your guests! Hope you enjoyed my DIY post! XO

Gift ideas for the 25th

Shopping season actually began last week after thanksgiving (but who needs an excuse anyway?). I must say that since I'm not going back home and just spending christmas in Amsterdam with close friends, I don't have to buy many presents, but it shouldn't hurt surfing the web for inspiration. Below are some of my picks for "that certain person". Maybe you even get some ideas :)

Personal gifts

Home Decorating; Incorporating color

Ok, so I'm guessing it might be clear that I love a lot of color. Actually our bedroom is all white, with accent colors. I recently hung this picture of my boyfriend and I at Santa Monica Pier on our LA trip. I enhanced the colors and it just "pops" (it was a accidental spontaneous picture that actually came out great). The perfect addition to our blank walls. Downstairs in the living room I hung lights (I call them picnic light), they create a wonderful atmosphere. I also got 2 little cacti with pink and orange tops! I love them :) and they fit nice with my serape, my souvenir from LA, Olvera Street. What do you think??

Outfit Post; Sweet November

Yesterday I had some friends over for dinner, I made paella. In the morning I walked through this little park while walking over to the market for fresh produce. I love the willow trees in the park, hanging over the canals. Such a mystical feel to it I find.

Mini bar

Mini bars are making a come back. It's not that we are all boozers, but it's easy entertaining. Now that the holidays are approaching, you might have people coming over etc. It's easy and it looks nice to have a well stocked mini bar. These images are all well presented and amazing I find, oh and I popped my own in there as well. So what do you think, Shaken or stirred?? XO

DIY - Photo Frame Tray {Video}

Here is DIY video on how to transform a photo frame into a little tray. I love to drink coffee or tea and even if it's just for myself I'd like it to look cute :) This photo frame size is a perfect personal tray. Or use it on your vanity for your perfume bottles or jewelry. Hope you like the video!! XO

Outfit Post; DIY Mullet Skirt

Happy T-day!! Hope everybody is having a great time, not too stressful and all :) I'm about to leave the house to go to my friends house who is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner and I'm helping her out. Growing up we never did Thanksgiving, but now with my American BF and half American friends we grew into it. Oh and since we are not too traditional anyway, we spared a turkey (like the president, I recently learned), but of course lots of other yummy food.

New in; Boots

Hi there, I got these last week in "the spur of the moment". I was never big on fur, maybe because I grew up on an island where it's always 30*C and sunny (oh and well these of course are faux fur). Then I saw them, tried them on and bought them (on sale!). Maybe it's the fashion frenzy that won me over or maybe it's the fact I hung out with a half Russian last weekend, but I'm in love with my newest purchase! and they love me back keeping my feet warm these cold days.

Nail art; Seeing stars

Hi there, so recently I've started using nail stickers and love it! I think it's much chicer if you just have one nail with a print/art. I went for my ring finger with stars and painted the rest black. The nail stickers are from H&M (they also have hearts and leopard print) and nail polish is from Essie-Licorish. Ofcourse don't forget to use a base coat to protect your nails from dark polishes and a top coat for long lasting-no chip nails. For a quick dry I use a "drip drop" oil by O.P.I. Et voila! a awesome manicure! XO

Outfit Post; Classic with a twist

Hi there, here's a challenge; create the cheapest look with what's in your closet. I guess you can't go wrong with jeans and a white button-down. My entire outfit (minus the shoes) are from Primark, now beat that budget shopper! I honestly believe that anybody can make cheap clothes look expensive, as long as it's combined well :) Well here is my cheap look... you think I pulled it off?? XO
