Mothers day DIY; Sustainable flowers that will last

This mothers day give mom flowers that will last. They are cute and versatile. You could stick them in a cake or hang them on a string like a garland or just in a jar.
What you will need:
-Paper in color and/or print
-Skewer sticks
-Scissors
-Glue or tape
-2 sizes circular object for measuring
-Colored duct tape or tissue paper
Cut flower shapes out of your paper. Use a smaller shape for the middle. You can play around with the width of the "petals". Cut a slit into the flowers and over-lap one "petal" over the other and stick them together.
I used metallic duct tape for the center op the flower, but you can also use tissue paper.
Stick the flowers through, add the center by just rolling the tape around it. You can even add leaves.
Et Voila! Flowers that are sustainable and will last.

DIY; Candy Filled Diamond

Let me start by saying; I despise Valentine's day, on the other hand, I love crafts and candy! So for those with either a Valentine in mind or a sweet tooth and an itch for crafts, I made this candy filled diamond that would make a perfect Valentine gift.
I started by saving and printing "this" template
Then trace on your valentine paper, fold lines and glue the spots that I marked black (for you to see).
Fill with your favorite candy, close it up...
Et Voila! Your Candy Filled diamond ready to gift

Holiday Gift Guide; Curaçao Edition

The Holidays are about to come up, so are the parties, the get togethers and the gifts. A few cute gift ideas while supporting our local artists and small business owners on the beautiful island.
Check out "Chincho la Coquetta" for tropical inspired, hand-made ceramic jewelry dishes and other cute gifts. Saturday December 20th there is a trunk show where you can purchase or you can send her a private msg on Facebook for custom orders in the future.
Next is for the ones that like to pamper themselves. "Naturals Curacao" has beautiful, natural products. Created and packaged in Curaçao. I fell in love with the limited edition "Sweet Honey Scrub" and was happy to hear that due to a great demand it is going to stay in the collection! For scrubs, soaps, butters and all kinds of oils pass by the store or visit their website.
And last are the hip hype, shiny tattoos. Perfect for this island lifestyle, beautiful on bronzed skin, awesome for the holiday parties! Get your unique designs at "Fin & Fintage" if you missed it at the pop-up markets, send Fin&Fintage a msg on Facebook and you will get them one way or another!
Hope your almost done with all your holiday shopping! It's time to relax and enjoy the last weeks of the year!

DIY Xmas Gift; Chocolate Covered Spoons

I have seen these types of spoons before, a chunk of chocolate to stir in hot milk to create hot cocoa. Now I wanted to make them myself, in a smaller fancier version that makes your tastebuds tingle.
The one on the left is Dark Chili and the one on the left is White Vanilla-bean.
What you need;
-Plain blocks of chocolate (dark & white)
-Wooden Spoons
-Chili (from a grinder)
-Fresh vanilla bean
1. Break both chocolates and put in two bowls, add bit of chili flakes into one and the scraped vanilla bean into the other.
2. Bring a pot of water to boil and place the bowl in the pot*, stir occasionally till the chocolate is melted evenly.
*(this method is called "au bain-marie")
3. Scoop the spoons in the chocolate and place on a lined baking sheet
leave them to cool down and refrigerate for a bit till chocolate is completely hard.
4. Package them in a plastic baggie and label them with custom-made labels.

Vday DIY ideas

I'm not the kind of person that is crazy about valentine's day, but when I see all the creative gift ideas on every website possible, I sort of get intrigued. Below are some easy and fun ideas to DIY for your valentine. Hope you like! XO
For your mom - Get a bar of chocolate and rewrap it with decorative paper, a sweet, personalized message and a ornament/keepsake.
For a friend - Put together a crafts starter kit. You can add anything really. For some one who would like to start making bracelets, get nice beads, chain, pliers etc. other kit ideas; for someone that starts scrapbooking, card making or sewing.
For your lover - Put together a movie night box. Start with a DVD of choice of course, Add sparkle to drink, and interactive dessert like sticks and marshmallows (to hold over a candle) or a mini chocolate fondue set.

Gift ideas for the 25th

Shopping season actually began last week after thanksgiving (but who needs an excuse anyway?). I must say that since I'm not going back home and just spending christmas in Amsterdam with close friends, I don't have to buy many presents, but it shouldn't hurt surfing the web for inspiration. Below are some of my picks for "that certain person". Maybe you even get some ideas :)
