Transition; Summer to Fall

I love color, there is no doubt in that. When the colored pants craze started, I indulged. Now I found my self with a challenge, how to transition the summer colored pants into fall.
Fall is slowly (in Holland actually quite quickly) making it's way over, with new trends and new colors. However I still want to be able to wear my summer pants... so I do.

Try This;
-Rich textures; Such as chunky knits and faux fur.
-Accessorize! Throw in a hat (so fall) or a round scarf or even a fall-ish print (Camouflage!)
- Color; Choose colors that are opposite of your summer pants, go for deeper hues in the same tone or different tones of color.

Above is a color spectrum to help out. Think of the inside as spring and summer and the outer rings as fall and winter hues.
Happy seasons transition!

Yellow, Burgundy and Camouflage

I rediscovered last year's (see worn "here") patterned knit.
Simply by layering it with a button down underneath and have the collar peek out.
Have a good weekend!

Fall's loafers and Flats

Fall is perfect for wearing loafers and flats, even though it can be rainy and quite cold... I try to hold off wearing boots as long as possible. My favorites at the moment are; My newest editions to my loafer collection, Gap's half haired, camouflage print loafers. I have been wanting something camo print, but since it seems like everybody is rocking the camp jacket I went for these to rock my feet.
Besides the Camo print, I love Glitters(!) and Gold(!) right now.
They can make any outfit preppy chic.
What's your favorite fall footwear?
 Top; Glitter flats; Nine West (old)
Bottom; Gold mary janes; Zara for girls (the kids sized go up to size 38!)

Lavender, Navy and Burgundy

I started the fall/winter DIYing again. Made this faux fur burgundy vest last week and it's been keeping me warm already. Lots of rain and wind, typical fall weather and a hat is perfect for this time of year (just make sure it doesn't blow off your head:)

Vest; DIY, Hat; Pins & Needles (UO, last year), Jeans; H&M, Heels; Ganni (last year), Lipstick; YSL - 205, rouge pour couture the mats

Easy Caesar Salad + Home-made Dressing

Last Saturday I went to the Farmer's market (one of my favorite pass times). I decided to make a fresh caesar salad for dinner. I made the dressing from scratch, the rest is pretty clear, romain lettuce, boiled egg, and grilled chicken (optional), of course I used ficken (fake chicken aka soy patties).
Nothing is tastier then your own home-made caesar salad!
What you need;
- 1 table spoon mayonaise
- 1teaspoon dijon mustard
- 1 large garlic clove (minced)
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Pinch of salt, pepper
- 3/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
o.k. It really is easy as 1,2,3 (I love these easy recipes!)
toss everything in a food processor, pulse until smooth and creamy,
et voila!

Sunday's Savory Scones

Perfect for Sunday brunch, instead of your general sweet scones (Yumm!) I made savory scones instead, using my bday gift for the first time! They are delicious with cream cheese or just as a mid afternoon snack.

What you need;
  • 75g/3oz feta, cubed small
  • 50g/2oz sun-dried tomatoes, drained of oil and chopped (reserve 1 tbsp oil)
  • 175g/6oz self-raising flour
  • 50g/2oz wholewheat flour
  • ¼ level tsp baking powder
  • ¼ level tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¼ level tsp mustard powder
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp milk
