Get Crafty This Weekend

 After yesterdays post I wanted to share a little of my jewelry making tips. Above you see my latest creations of necklaces and bracelets. below you see how it usually starts off (one big pile of crafties). I like to get all of it out so I can see what I have and see which colors or textures fit nice together and ofcourse I like to clash colors; neons with black and whites, opposites attract instead of keeping it safe in the same color pallet.

 The first and third necklace (see pictures above) I braided. The first was braided, including the bolts as you go along. 

With the second necklace I wrapped multiple ropes together.

*Tip; Stick your rope down with washi tape

 If wrapping other twine or so around the rope, secure it by melting the ends or by superglueing them. 

(superglue = my friend)

Last step is to attach a clasp (use your pliers for this) 

*Tip; find clasps at a arts & crafts store or reuse one from an old necklace!

Beetlejuice

Running some last minute errands before leaving this cold and grey Amsterdam. Might as well make the best of it by layering some of my faves.

DIY Fringe Necklace

DIY a (faux) leather fringe necklace to spruce up any shirt this winter, in just a few was steps. 

What you need;

Flat clamps

Chain

(Faux) Leather Fringe 

Note; Get the supplies at a fabric, craft or bead store

Happy crafting!

1. I glued the fringe band double for a fuller effect.

2. Attach the flat clamps on each side of the fringe band

3. Then attach the chain to the flat clamps (they should include an eyelet on one end)

Et Voila! your own DIY Fringe necklace!

DIY; Chunky Pearl Necklace

 I got Inspired while "window shopping" on forever21.com so many different ones! (check below). Then I though; I can make that! so I gathered all sorts of old necklaced that have been put in my necklace coffin for now. It's really fun to reinvent your jewelry and actually wear it again.

Find the "how to" steps below...

Happy Crafting

1. Gather old jewelry, like; strands of pearls, chain and lace (get different sizes and shapes for extra dimension)

2. Hook the all together in one loop/eyelet (since it becomes a bulky collection, I used one link of a big chain)

3. Pull them straight and even out the length
4. Gather the strands into 3 groups and braid.

5. Loop them all together with another eyelet or link

Outfit Post; Black 'n White & Pink Bauble

 Three of my favorite items in one outfit. The summer's must have necklace from Ily Couture, my burgundy shorts I scored in the mens department of H&M and my black & white stripes. I cannot wait to wear all these items in fall, since I think they will all transition just perfectly.

New in; Coral Fan Necklace

As a true island girl I love accessories that scream summer or anything that comes from the ocean. I once came across a fan coral necklace on the world of Pinterest (follow me "here") and was immedietely in love. 

At the moment I'm back in my hometown Curaçao, visiting my parents together with my sister. My sister got me this presant (she has one in pink!) I love, love, love it! Thank hermana!

DIY; Pom-Pom Necklace

This is a very easy, quirky chic accessory that you can make in 5 minutes. Finish off a summery outfit or they make as cute gifts as well. Happy Crafting!

What you need;
Pom-poms (color as you wish)
Chain
Clamps
jewelry pliers
locket

1. Clamp the ends of the pom-pom strands

2. Attach the chain to each ends

3. Attach the locket in the back
