DIY - Photo Frame Tray {Video}

Here is DIY video on how to transform a photo frame into a little tray. I love to drink coffee or tea and even if it's just for myself I'd like it to look cute :) This photo frame size is a perfect personal tray. Or use it on your vanity for your perfume bottles or jewelry. Hope you like the video!! XO

Outfit Post; DIY Mullet Skirt

Happy T-day!! Hope everybody is having a great time, not too stressful and all :) I'm about to leave the house to go to my friends house who is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner and I'm helping her out. Growing up we never did Thanksgiving, but now with my American BF and half American friends we grew into it. Oh and since we are not too traditional anyway, we spared a turkey (like the president, I recently learned), but of course lots of other yummy food.

New in; Boots

Hi there, I got these last week in "the spur of the moment". I was never big on fur, maybe because I grew up on an island where it's always 30*C and sunny (oh and well these of course are faux fur). Then I saw them, tried them on and bought them (on sale!). Maybe it's the fashion frenzy that won me over or maybe it's the fact I hung out with a half Russian last weekend, but I'm in love with my newest purchase! and they love me back keeping my feet warm these cold days.

Nail art; Seeing stars

Hi there, so recently I've started using nail stickers and love it! I think it's much chicer if you just have one nail with a print/art. I went for my ring finger with stars and painted the rest black. The nail stickers are from H&M (they also have hearts and leopard print) and nail polish is from Essie-Licorish. Ofcourse don't forget to use a base coat to protect your nails from dark polishes and a top coat for long lasting-no chip nails. For a quick dry I use a "drip drop" oil by O.P.I. Et voila! a awesome manicure! XO

Outfit Post; Classic with a twist

Hi there, here's a challenge; create the cheapest look with what's in your closet. I guess you can't go wrong with jeans and a white button-down. My entire outfit (minus the shoes) are from Primark, now beat that budget shopper! I honestly believe that anybody can make cheap clothes look expensive, as long as it's combined well :) Well here is my cheap look... you think I pulled it off?? XO

Beauty Product; Save don't splurge

Hi lovelies, one thing is for sure when it comes to beauty products, they could cost hands full! another thing that's for sure is that I love experimenting and trying out new things when it comes to beauty products. Now that the holidays are approaching and much more money will be spent, here is a way to save up on those beauty products and still keep your regime. XO

Lips of Babel

Through Motilo (fashion-focused social network), I discovered this video. It is by former model, Elle Muliarchyk. She took 24 international top models and had them say a tongue twister in their own language. It is so impressive! I was happy to see a Dutch model (4th) between the bunch and I could actually twist the tongue twister too! Is there one in your language as well? XO

Jewelry; Cuff love

I always love big pieces of jewelry. These aren't just cuffs, these are amazing embellished cuffs that add an extra to any outfit! They had me going "goo-goo" all over the net. Maybe good to add to a certain holiday wish list, because before you know it it's that time ;)

DIY; Maxi skirt

Hi lovelies, so the easiest thing to sew I find, are skirts. It is what I have made mostly passed summer. Here is a little behind the "sewing scenes".
All you need is a soft fabric of choice, elastic band and same color thread.
  • Get the fabric the length from your waist to the floor (and about 10cm extra for seaming) and 1,5 or 2 times the with of your hips.
  • The elastic needs to be the length of your waist (plus 10cm extra)
Remember to check if you need a special needle for your machine, for example with this fabric I used a "stretch needle"
  • Lay fabric out flat and pin every cm, one cm over (see above)
  • Simply sew the elastic and the pinned fabric to each other
  • Then fold over ("inside out") and sew together both ends, you could leave a slit of you like (see below)

Et voila! your very own maxi skirt!

Baking; Yummy Pumpkin muffins

Hi lovelies, hope everybody had a nice halloween weekend. We did absolutely nothing in the sake of halloween. Here in Holland it's not as big as in the US or UK. But what I miss most from the US around this time of year, is everything pumpkin. So I made my own. If you have left over pumpkin from halloween (that is still edible), you could give these a try ;)
 Ingredients;

  • 1,1/5 c all-purpose flour
  • 1tsp cinnamon, 1tsp allspice, 1tsp baking soda, 1tsp baking powder
  • 1,1/4 c fine sugar
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil
  • 2 lightly beaten eggs
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1c pumpkin puree (I cheated and used canned pumpkin puree, just as good!)
  • 1/2 c pecan nuts

  • Preheat oven to 175*C/350*F
  • Take 2 mixing bowls, in one all the dry ingredients (minus nuts, so first 3 bullet-points) in the second all wet ingredients (the rest, minus nuts).
  • Once that is mixed, add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing for a few minutes.
  • Last add crushed pecan nuts
  • Poor into lined cupcake backing tin.
  • Pop in the over for 20 minutes
Et voila! Enjoy your pumpkin muffins with a delicious home made chai latte!

Outfit Post; Burgundy skirt

I got crafty again and made another maxi skirt. My machine has had a rest for a while, being away on vacation and all. Now I'm back, full of new inspiration and lucky me, time for myself :)

Nail art; stripes in unusual ways

So I got creative with some nail polish. I have been seeing a lot of nail art lately. Personally I thought I'd get bored with it and take it off right away. I have this nail-do for a few days now and honestly it grew on me:) what you need is; a regular polish (mine is O.P.I. Ink) and a nail art polish (one with a thin brush, got mine in china town) and at last a steady hand. I could use some practice, but I am happy with my first nail art.

Outfit Post; Bordeaux Pants

Yup, it's fall. See those leaves on the floor. These colors are my uniform colors this year. Burgundy, bordeaux, navy and teal can't help but loving it. As I kept layering on clothes to keep warm, last I grabbed the gloves, that give (I find) the finishing touch.

Home decorating; How to display your jewelry

Hi loves, I love the displays in jewelry boutiques, of course it makes you want to buy it all. Besides wearing pretty jewelry, I think you should display them in your room as well. Then it is easy to choose what to wear with what your'e wearing. Display your jewelry in a flat glass box, cute plates or bowls, hang necklaces from items that you have in your room. Most important, be creative! I used a kitchen roll holder to display and hold my bangles. Hope you get inspired!
