Winer Blues

I have a love hate relationship with winter. Being able to take a walk in the snowy white park makes me love it! but then once that snow becomes icy and slippery and a gush of cold wind, you know... it's not so pleasant. However this day I was enjoying it and like in my previous post, adding some pops of pastel in to my wardrobe.
Oh and btw, Happy Valentines Day

Chunky Knit & Soft Pastels

Even though it is still *Peeping* cold out, it feels like spring's getting closer. The stores are full of the new season's fashion and the days are actually getting longer. With a little more sunshine peeking through the still snow covered branches, I feel like I want to dress for spring already. I incorporated bits of pastel colors with my layered, chunky cold weather clothes. Slowly but surely we are getting there...

Breakfast at Fayme's in the Kitchen; Mini Quiche

What's for brunch this weekend? How about a take on a quiche, instead of baking one big one, bake (crustless, nice and light) individual cupcake sized quiches.
Got this tip from my sis! *Thanks hermana!
What you need;
- Vegetables like; Onion, leek, tomato
- Aged cheese like Old Amsterdam Gouda and some meatiness like Salami (if you desire)
- 4 eggs (for 6 muffins)
- Splash of milk or heavy cream
1. Cook the vegetables till the onions and leek are glazed add some spices (I added cuban spice mix)
2. Whisk the eggs and the cream or milk add some salt & pepper then add the veggies
3. Pour mixture into buttered cupcake pan (2/3 full)
4. Add your meat and your cheese (I cut out circles, but you can use grated cheese as well)
5. Bake in the oven at 180*C, for about 12-17 mins
Et Voila! Mini quiche is served! Bon Appétit!

Tropical Kaleidoscope

Reminiscing the warm Curaçao days one more time. A trend we will be seeing lots of coming Spring/summer is the tropical kaleidoscope look. I am totally in love with these types of prints, often rich in color like this dress itself. Showcasing exotic flowers like orchids and lilies, the wardrobe is a piece of art on its own, I think.

Borrowed from the boys

One perk of being a women in a mens world is that you can rate their closet and get away with it too. I knew that the day my BF bought this button down, that I was totally going to steal it one day and that day has come. Layering it with a leather top and a sparkly fringe necklace for a balanced feminine/masculine look.

DIY/How to; Re-use Glass

I must confess, I tend to collect my empty glass jars and bottles. Sometimes I end up bringing a huge bag filled with glass to the recycle container and other times I find a way to reuse my empty glass jars and bottles. Below is the how to on this DIY above...
What you need;
- Empty and cleaned glass jars
- Plastic animals of choice
- Crazy glue
- Spray paint color of choice
1. Stick animals to lids and leave to dry
2. Spray paint lids with animals and leave to dry
3. store your favorite candid nut or other trinkets in your awesome new jars!
Re-use glass jars for your morning latte or as a vase for your fresh cut seasonal flowers
Use an empty wine bottle for your dish-wash-soap buy sticking in an olive oil pourer.
Or as a candle holder for some awesome colored candle sticks.

Breakfast at Fayme's in the Kitchen; Sunday Brunch

Happy Sunday everybody! It's time to stay in bed and cozy up.
Get out of your regular breakfast routine and change it up by serving your coffee in reused glass jars. And instead of regular cheese mix it up with brie and jelly and old Amsterdam gouda cheese with candied ginger, YUM!!

Underneath it all

I have rediscovered my colored jeans and print pants this winter. For the passed 2 weeks it has been below 0 degrees here in Holland (thats quite unusual compared to the past few years) So wearing these bulky scarfs and coats all buttoned up doesn't make me happier either (well at least it keeps me warm). I have come up with the solution to wear lots of colorful jeans and printed pants since thats the only thing that peeps out underneath all those chunky warm clothes.
Jeans; H&M (on sale now!), Top Urban Outfitters (on sale now!), Shoes; Ralph Lauren (for boys, old)
